Not every product is destined for injection moulding at a hundred thousand units. Low-volume, bespoke and specialist products have different economics, and designing them as though they were mass-market is how budgets disappear.
Designing for the real volume
Tooling that makes sense at 100,000 units is ruinous at 500. For low volumes the right answers are often different: machined rather than moulded, fabricated rather than cast, 3D printed end-use parts, or standard extrusions adapted rather than bespoke sections.
We scope the process to the volume at the start, because that decision constrains every geometry choice that follows.
One-off and specialist work
Equipment enclosures, fixtures, retail and exhibition hardware, specialist tools, and adaptations of existing products for a new market or regulation.
These projects reward manufacturing pragmatism over styling. The measure is whether the workshop can build it at the price you assumed.
